Lesson 3

The white cross

Bring the daisy's white edges down to the bottom face to finish the white cross.

Goal: a white cross on the bottom face. Each of the four white edges goes down so that its side colour matches the centre on that side.

Recognise the case

This stage has a single case. Look at the side colour of the petal at the top front: does it match the front centre? If not, turn the top layer until it does.

  • Match and drop

Turn the top layer so the white edge is at the top front, right above the centre of its colour. Do F2: the edge goes down and becomes one arm of the white cross. Then rotate the whole cube with y.

What to do

When the petal’s side colour matches the front centre, do F2: the edge goes down and becomes one arm of the white cross. Then rotate the whole cube with y and repeat for the next side. You never need to turn the cube upside down; keep yellow on top.
